This Privacy Policy explains how CommuteApp Aps with office at Hobro Landevej 129, 8830 Tjele ("CommuteApp", “we”, or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you through its mobile applications, websites, and other online products and services (collectively, the "Services") or when you otherwise interact with us.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you a notification). We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the Services or otherwise interact with us to stay informed about our information practices and the choices available to you.

Collection of Information

Information You Provide to Us


We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you create an account, participate in any interactive features of the Services, fill out a form, upload a profile photo, participate in a contest or promotion, redeem a reward, request customer support or otherwise communicate with us. The types of information we may collect include your name, phone number, email address, profile photo, and any other information you choose to provide.

Information About Your Use of the Services

Usage Information


We collect information about your use of the Services, and we use various technologies to determine location, including IP address, GPS, and other sensors that may, for example, provide us with information on nearby devices, Wi-Fi access points and cell towers. We may also receive information from other sensors on your device such as the compass, accelerometer, and gyroscope.

Automatically Collected Information

When you access or use our Services, we automatically collect information about you, including:

Log Information:
We collect log information about your use of the Services, including the type of OS version you use, app version, device ID, and other in-app or online activity (user path, access times, pages viewed, etc.).

Device Information:
We collect information about the computer or mobile device you use to access our Services, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

Location Information:

Commute collects location data in the background, even when the app is closed, in order to enable the following features:

  • To give the user a statistical overview of the their own transport behavior and its effect on the climate.

  • Automatic tracking of modes of transportation e.g. determining whether the user is using public transport or walking, and then automatically compensating with CO2-Coins for choosing green modes of transportation.

    • The amount of CO2-Coins rewarded is based on both the total kilometers traveled, and which type of transportation is used.

As noted above, in accordance with your device permissions, we will collect information about the precise location and movement of your device, including travel data captured by your device (e.g., acceleration). For more details, please see "Your Choices" below.



Information Collected by Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies:
Like most online services and mobile applications, we may use cookies and other technologies, such as web beacons, web storage, and unique advertising identifiers, to collect information about your activity, browser, and device.

Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that help us improve our Services and your experience, see which areas and features of our Services are popular and count visits. Web beacons are electronic images that may be used in our Services or emails and help deliver cookies, count visits and understand usage and campaign effectiveness. Information We Collect from Other Sources

We may obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through our Services. For example, if you create or log into your account through a social media site, we will have access to certain information from that site, such as your name, gender, photos, account information, and friends lists, in accordance with the authorization procedures determined by such social media site.

Use of Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, such as to facilitate the performance of primary functions of the Services (e.g., transportation, travel, and geolocation services), or to manage your account with the Services.

We also use the information we collect to:

Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts and support and administrative messages and to respond to your comments, questions and customer service requests; Communicate with you about products, services, offers, promotions, and events offered by CommuteApp or third parties, or provide news and information related to the Services or third parties we think will be of interest to you;

Monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities in connection with our Services;

Detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities and protect the rights and property of CommuteApp and users or partners;

Personalize and improve the Services and provide advertisements, content or features that match user profiles or interests;

Facilitate CommuteApp and third-party contests, sweepstakes and promotions and process and deliver entries and rewards;

Comply with our legal obligations;

Enforce, or otherwise use in connection with, the Terms of Service;

and Carry out any other purpose described to you at the time the information was collected.

Sharing of Information

We may share information about you as follows or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.

With vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf; In an anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified form, with third parties for their own services and general marketing purposes, unless you opt out of this type of sharing by logging out of the Services or deleting our mobile application; In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law or legal process, including lawful requests by public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements; If we believe your actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property and safety of CommuteApp or others; In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company;

Between and among CommuteApp and our current and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and other companies under common control and ownership in furtherance of our provision of services to you; and Aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

CommuteApp provides you with opportunities to connect with third parties or third-party applications or services, such as through third-party promotions or challenges. If you choose to interact with such third parties outside of the Services or use any such third-party applications or services, we may facilitate sharing of your information and such third parties may contact you directly as necessary.

Your interactions outside of the Services with such third parties or use of such applications and services is not governed by this privacy policy. CommuteApp does not control the applications or services of those third parties or how they use your information and documents. Be sure to review the terms and the privacy policies of those third parties before using their applications or services.

Advertising and Analytics Services Provided by Others

We may allow others to provide analytics services and serve advertisements on our behalf across the internet and in applications. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Services and other websites and applications, including your IP address, web browser, mobile network information, pages viewed, time spent on pages or in apps, links clicked and conversion information.

This information may be used by CommuteApp and others to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests on our Services and other websites and better understand your online activity. Your Rights and Choices

Account Information

You may update, correct or delete information about you at any time by going to the Account page of the app, emailing us at support@commuteapp.dk. If you wish to delete or deactivate your account, please email us at support@commuteapp.dk, but note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

We may also retain cached or archived copies of information about you for a certain period of time.

Location Information

When you first launch any of our mobile applications that collect location information, you will be asked to consent to the application's collection of this information.

We currently require this location information to use our Services, so if you do not consent to this collection, our Services will not function as intended. If you initially consent to our collection of location information, you can subsequently stop the collection of this information at any time by changing the preferences on your mobile device. If you do so, our mobile applications, or certain features thereof, will no longer function.

You may also stop our collection of location information by following the standard uninstall process to remove all of our mobile applications from your device.

Cookies

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of our Services.

Promotional Communications

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails and communications from CommuteApp by clicking on the unsubscribe link in these communications. If you opt out, we may still send you non- promotional communications, such as those about your account or our ongoing business relations.

Mobile Push Notifications/Alerts

With your consent, we may send promotional and non-promotional push notifications or alerts to your mobile device. You can deactivate these messages at any time by changing the notification settings on your mobile device.

Do Not Track Notice

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a preference available in many web browsers which allows you to inform websites you visit that you do not want them collecting information about you. CommuteApp does not respond to DNT signals. For further details regarding DNT, visit donottrack.us.

Children’s Privacy

Our service is not targeted towards children under the age of 15 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 15.

If you are a parent or guardian of a child, you may review and request deletion of the child’s personal information by contacting support@commuteapp.dk.

California Residents

Pursuant to Section 1798.83 of the California Civil Code, California residents can obtain certain information about the use of their personal information by CommuteApp, as well request deletion of their personal information or account.
Please email support@commuteapp.dk with such requests, and note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may also retain cached or archived copies of information about you for a certain period of time.

If you have provided personal information to CommuteApp, you can request:

To know the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the reason(s) we have collected it, the sources of the data, and the categories of third parties with whom we share the information; If you have only provided personal information as a result of browsing our website, i.e., you did not complete any forms or send CommuteApp any emails or other communications, we are unable to provide information about the specific personal information it holds about you. general data handling practices.

Note: We will not provide information if doing so would violate a duty of confidentiality owed to our customers or any applicable laws and regulations.

You may also request that CommuteApp delete the personal information it holds about you. However, requests to delete data are subject to various limitations by statute and we may retain certain data as permitted or required by law.

Data Requests can be made by emailing support@commuteapp.dkWe will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or the requestor’s authority to make the request. Questions about the data request process should be directed to support@commuteapp.dk.

Verifying your identity is required before we respond to your request. To verify your identity, we will collect basic personal information about you to match with our records. You may make data requests no more than twice in a 12-month period.

We will try to respond to verifiable requests within 45 days. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in a written response. Any disclosures we provide will only cover a maximum of 12-month period preceding the receipt of your request. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable.

We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under Danish law.

Data Security

CommuteApp secures data through a mix of technical and administrative. CommuteApp also has policies and procedures designed to promote commercially reasonable security practices. Nonetheless, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us electronically over cellular and wireless networks that we do not control.
